Vasilikon Winery

Vasilikon Winery was founded in 1993 and is situated in Kathikas, Pafos. As one of the first local wineries in Cyprus, it was founded by brothers Heracles, Georgios and Giannis Kyriakides entering the Cyprus wine market with the production of their Vasilikon Xynisteri and Agios Onoufrios.

Priding themselves on the excellent quality of their grapes grown in their vineyards located in Kathikas and Akamas Laona areas of Pafos, their Vasilikon Xynisteri was the first dry wine with PDO Laona Akamas (Protected Designation of Origin) since 2018.

Vasilikon’s vineyards are host to Xynisteri, Lefkada, Morokanella, Maratheftiko, Yiannoudi, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah, at an altitude of 650-700m. Most of which are situated on limestone (asbestolithic) and some in loamy-gypsum. To maintain their vines at the highest of standards they do not use herbicides in their vineyards, only light soil treatment.

The winery produces 8 beautiful wines, 3 whites (Xynisteri, SV Xynisteri & Vasilissa), 1 rosé (Einalia – Syrah & Maratheftiko blend) and 4 red wines (including 1 blend Agios Onoufrios, Lefkada, Methy – Cabernet Sauvignon & Aeon – Maratheftiko)

Most recently, Vasilikon’s Rosé – Einalia (Een-al-le-ah), won not only the Diamant at the Femmes et Vins du monde Concours International 2021 & Diamant Admirable at the International Rosé Wines Guide Competition Monaco 2021.
